Golden Retriever Dad Shirts

The Golden Retriever started as a working gun dog in the Scottish Highlands. At his Guisachan estate in the 1860s, Dudley Marjoribanks, later Lord Tweedmouth, crossed a yellow retriever named Nous with a Tweed Water Spaniel named Belle to get a dog that could fetch shot birds from cold water and rough ground and bring them back undamaged. That job explains the famous soft mouth and the love of water. The American Kennel Club recognized the breed in 1925.
