Size guide

The Chihuahua takes its name from the Mexican state of Chihuahua, where American visitors found and bought the little dogs in the mid-1800s. Its likely ancestor is the Techichi, a small companion dog of ancient Mexico. The American Kennel Club registered its first Chihuahua in 1904, and the breed standard still asks for a dog of no more than 6 pounds. What the scale does not measure is the job these dogs give themselves: listening for every car door, reporting every visitor and supervising the whole household from the arm of the couch.

This shelf is for the man that tiny lookout reports to. None of our Chihuahua designs says "dad," so we picked the bold poster and type designs he would actually wear, built around the two things every Chihuahua owner talks about: the ears and the attitude. Radio duty: "Clear Reception" with its red waveform, "Night Receiver" in retro sci-fi colors and "Small Signal." The lookout: "Nothing Missed," "Still Listening" between crumbling brick letters and the mock monument of "Chihuahua's Eternal Vigil." The newsroom: "Stop the Press." The workshop measuring stand: "Change the Measure" and "Measure Differently." And the attitude: "Little Leads Large," "Power," "Tip the Balance," "Maximum Minimum" and "Not All Noise."

Every design is printed on our Washed Tee: 100% cotton, 250 gsm, washed vintage finish, relaxed unisex fit, S to 5XL, three colors per design. 2 or more tees ship free in the US, and 3 or more get 15% off automatically. FAQ

Do these shirts say Chihuahua dad?

No. They are original Chihuahua designs picked for the man who loves his Chihuahua: big-ear radio and lookout jokes, newsroom and measuring-stand posters and small-dog attitude. None of them is on our funny Chihuahua or Chihuahua mom pages, so you can mix designs from all three.

Which colors do these come in?

Most of these designs are drawn for the lighter tees, Coffee, Apricot and Gray. A few, like "Tip the Balance," come in Black, Army Green and Royal Blue, and some mix both. Each product page shows the three colors for that design.

What size should I get for a man?

The Washed Tee is a relaxed straight unisex cut and true to size, from S to 5XL, so most men order their usual size. Check the chest width in our size guide. Tees are printed to order, so we cannot take returns for a wrong size.
