Size guide

The Shih Tzu was bred as a palace companion in imperial China, and the breed has never really accepted that the job ended. A Shih Tzu expects a cushion, a schedule built around its naps and an audience for its hair. It is small, sweet and absolutely in charge, and every owner has a story about the day their dog simply sat down mid-walk and declared the outing complete.

These are our funniest Shih Tzu designs, all original illustrations. The royalty files: "Off Duty Emperor," "Weekend Royalty," a crowned Shih Tzu on a seaside chaise, "Minor Majesty" and "Short Kingdom." The hair department: "Good Hair Club," a salon poster with a fan blowing a glamorous coat, and "The Fluff Index," a coat chart that measures fluff like science. The walk negotiations: "Not Moving" and "The Short Distance," a map of a very short, very scenic walk. Then the lifestyle choices: "Lounging Is a Language," "Be Here Nowish" with a dog asleep on the alarm clock, "My Calendar Has a Chin," "Small Dog Big Night" under a disco ball, and "Small Does Not Mean Silent" for the vocal ones. A couple of classics join in too, like "Monday Found Me," a Shih Tzu take on The Scream, and a round of Dogs Playing Poker.

Every design is printed on our Washed Tee: 100% cotton, 250 gsm heavyweight fabric with a washed vintage finish and a relaxed unisex fit, sizes S to 5XL, three colors per design, and many also come as a lighter Soft Tee. Orders of 2 or more tees ship free in the US, and 3 or more get 15% off automatically. See every design in the full Shih Tzu collection.
